An Explanation of the Motivational Factors of Warriors in Jihad Based on the Twenty-Seventh Prayer of Sahifa Sajjadiyeh

The present essay has been written with the aim of extracting the motivational factors mentioned in the twenty-seventh prayer of Sahifa Sajjadiyeh (the prayer of the frontiersmen) as well as explaining and analyzing each of those factors based on the verses of the Qur'an and the hadiths of Ahl al-Bayt (a). The method used in this research was descriptive-analytical. With this method, the statements effective in motivating the warriors for Jihad in the prayer were discovered and categorized, and in the next stage, these motivational statements were studied with regard to the related verses and hadiths. The findings of the research show that "belief in the afterlife rewards of Jihad" which is the expression of the reward of martyrs on the Day of Judgment can be one of the factors that strengthen the motivation of Jihad, as well as " weak-viewing the enemy" which occurs by knowing their number and situation to be little and low. Their position is one of the other factors that strengthen the warriors' motivation, and finally, "forgetting the deceptive world" which includes the memory of human possessions as well as the memory of one's wife and children is another motivational factor in the path of Jihad.
